Wow, okay after all those pictures are you on board with me now?

There weren't any review of this product when I bought it and I thought if it stinks I want everyone to know!
Well I love it, my swatches are without a base, and my camera skills do not do them justice.
It's a nice mix of shimmer and matte shadows which all have amazing pigmentation.
I was trying to debate between this and the new Urban Decay Book of Shadows. I had heard a few negative reviews about it so I thought why not just get this. I am so glad that I did, it just came in the mail an hour again so I haven't done more than swatch it.

5pm update: The hubby came home and I showed him and he said "If there was ever something made just for you this is it". He also commented on how he couldn't believe that I got so much stuff for 52 dollars. He knows nothing about makeup but I agree with him for how much stuff you get it's an amazing deal. He also noticed the chocolate smell from the bronzer right away, which I thought was funny hehe.

I did use the palette for my look today just bumming around. I LOVE everything I used, I already want individual Chocolate Soleil Bronzer and Sweet Pink blush if I can buy it separately. I used Cop A Teal shadow all over my lid with a hint of Nice Stems along the lash line,In the Buff on my browbone. The color payoff is amazing and you don't have to work with it to get it to show up, it just does!

What you get: This dreamy set features 15 pigment-drenched ethereal shadows, a full-size Shadow Insurance primer for crease-proof, long-wearing benefits, two beautiful blushes, a sunny bronzer, and a warm, golden highlighter for the flawless complexion. Thanks to Too Faced, dreams really do come true.

It cost:$52.00

- 15 x 0.03 oz Eye Shadows in In The Buff (matte ivory), Peach Fuzz (golden peach shimmer), Copper Peony (copper sun), Teddy Bear (matte taupe brown), Lovey Dovey (sable brown shimmer), Satin Sheets (golden pink champagne shimmer), Cut The Cake (lavender mauve shimmer), Party Girl (bright violet), Nice Ash (charcoal), Smolder (matte navy), Honeymoon (burnished gold shimmer), Label Whore (metallic brown with blue iridescent), Nice Stems! (golden clover), Cop A Teal (peacock blue), First Dance (matte deep purple)
- 0.14 oz Chocolate Soleil Bronzer (rich matte bronze) - 0.14 oz Candlelight Glow Highlighting Powder (sheer luminous soft gold) - 2 x 0.08 oz Blush in Cocoa Rose (soft pink brown), Sweet Pink (fresh pink sheen) - 0.35 oz Shadow Insurance Anti-Crease Eye Shadow Primer - Signature step-by-step instruction cards

Lauren Conrad recently did an interview with Forbes magazine and said
“Right now, one of my main objectives is to expand TheBeautyDepartment.com into a product line. I am currently researching all of my options, but should begin the process of executing an actual line very soon—stay tuned.”
We know she is from Laguna Beach,The Hills, she has 3 clothing lines, she was the MARK spokes girl, her fifth book will be out very soon. I know that when I see her I always want to know what makeup she has on and how she did her hair.I think she has great style so I don't think this would be a bad thing for her. She must be doing something right because as of 2011 she is worth 13.5 million dollars at the age of 25.

What do you think will you buy it?
I saw this post first on, giving credit where it is due!

That's all for now, I was wasting time before an appointment on the celebrity websites. I thought I would share a few with you. I will be back with a haul as soon as my package gets here.

This little biotch was the whole start of my troubles, when I went on a manhunt looking for it. I hit every Chanel counter and website that I had heard had this item in stock. The  first Chanel employee told me that this item was discontinued months ago and that its replacement was the Sheer illuminating fluid. I told her that was not what I wanted and began to walk away and she said OH wait you want the powder bronzer now that we have. I thanked her but I left empty handed because I didn't want either of those.

The other Chanel counter lady was very nice and flat out told me they were sold out. She didn't try to insult me by selling me things I didn't want or need. She did however say "Ever since someone mentioned it on the YouzTube we have sold out" and I smiled and thanked her. She then said "I don't know what channel or show that is but I keep hearing about that Youztube" she was too cute and I left empty handed.

I hit 2 different Sephora locations and one was sold out of everything I wanted to look at. Plus as usual I got no service until I hunted someone down. I did however get helped when I picked up YSL and started looking at it. I didn't end up buying anything at either location I was just not feeling it.

My MAC counter was sold out of everything and by the time I made it there they were closing in 45minutes. I  got a smile from the gentleman working, but I always feel like I am bothering people when they don't turn around to acknowledge you when they are putting on makeup in the mirror. I know you see me because I see you looking in the mirror eheh.

I came home and ordered a few hopefully fun things on Sephora. I always end up buying things for clients or my kit and I don't get the fun stuff. So hopefully when it gets here next week I will have a good review for you!

If anyone knows where I can get my hands on the Chanel makeup base, please let a girl know. I will be your best friend forever :)
This could be us :)

This weeks interview is with the beautiful Shae from ThatGirlShaeXo on You Tube. She is not only beautiful but she is also an amazing makeup artist. Her tutorials are amazing, and she is has over 11,000 subbies on You Tube that agree.

1. Have you always been into makeup as much as you are now, or did You tube increase your need for all things beauty?(does you tube make you an addict)
A. Growing up I actually disliked makeup! I was a huge tom boy. I grew up in South Dakota loving sports and fishing and things like that. It wasn't until my late teens where I started experimenting with makeup and found my true love for it. Since then youtube has inspired me more and more everyday to keep learning and playing!

2. Where do you find inspiration when doing your makeup, hair, and fashion?
A. I find my inspiration in almost everything. I could see an article of clothing with an interesting color pattern and run home right away to make a look out of it. I also love looking through fashion magazines. I learn so much from just trying to recreate looks in advertisements.

3.Is there a celebrity that you would like to steal their look?
A. Katy Perry! I absolutely adore her and I think we have very similar personalities. Shes so fun and care free and always has a fresh clean face with a pop of color.

4.Is there a celebrity that you would like to do a makeover on? Who and why?
A. Snooki! I think shes funny and all but she could be even more pretty if she would just learn to do a proper smokey eye with lashes.

5.Do you have a Holy Grail makeup item? Holy Grail Beauty item (lotion, perfume ,hair product)
A. My holy grail makeup would have to be woodwinked eye shadow by mac as well as pink swoon blush! they both look beautiful on any skin type!

6.Is there a beauty trend that you just don't understand or you will never follow?
A. Frosty lipstick! It has the worst tenancy to make your teeth look yellow. Also way to much lip liner.

7.Is there something you could tell us about yourself that might surprise us or that we might not know just from your videos/blog?
A. I had really bad grades through middle school and high school up until my junior year.It still really bothers me today! I never applied myself and if I could have done it all over again I would have spent alot more time in the books and alot less time worrying what others thought of me.

8.How did you get started with doing You Tube? What made you want to start filming?
A. XSparkage was my first inspiration for starting a youtube channel. I was one of her first hundred subscribers. She inspired me so much to play with crazy funky colors. I did not have a whole lot of confidence growing up as a tom boy. Starting a youtube channel forced me face my insecurities head on and see that even I was beautiful.

9.Can you tell us what music you like to listen to when you’re getting ready? What musician or songs you enjoy listening to when you’re doing hair and makeup?
A. I LOVE Pandora. Its usually set on a country station. It relaxes me so much because it reminds me of my hometown and my family :)

10.Do you have any advice for anyone who is interested in starting a beauty you tube channel?
A. Dont worry about your number of subscribers or if you're a partner or not. Now a days it seems everyone on youtube is competing with each other on who can be top dog. When I first started out it was still just about the love of making videos and sharing your passion! If you're going to do it, do it for the right reasons. Not to be a "youtube celebrity".

(Her Mila Kunis makeup video is one of my favorites)

11.Do you have any tips for people who are aspiring makeup artist?
 A. Don't give up! Practice Practice Practice. Makeup is HARD but at the end of the day, its just makeup, and it all washes off. :)

Thank you for having me! I love your blog beautiful! :)

Price:$5.00 (without a coupon)
What it claims:
 Dual stripe formulation:
Gold contains a revolutionary weightless nutri oil treatment that deeply nourishes
White contains conditioner boosted with fiber active damage protection technology. Smoothes extra dry, rough & frizzy hair for beautiful shine.

My Review:

First I don't have the empty container because my dear sweet husband tossed my bag of empties assuming it was trash :) At least he was taking out the trash, so I can't complain heh

I want to say that I am a little bit of a shopaholic(gasp) and I buy a lot of stuff that I don't need so it takes me forever to hit bottom. I actually have just been using this conditioner over the past month.  I saw its pretty little bottle in the back of my beauty closet and thought why the heck not.(I just saw my post from April when I bought this item if that tells you anything)

This conditioner is to be used in place of your regular conditioner for needed moisture. I loved it it's thick and creamy. It comes out white and gold that is the oil treatment and it makes my hair feel so soft immediately. I can run my fingers through my hair without tangles, it dries faster because its is healthier. I will say that I used up this product pretty fast because I wasn't using it everyday because I don't wash my hair everyday. I must have been using it more than suggested because its long gone and  I started using it a month ago.

Most importantly when my hair is completely dry it has a healthy shine to it. I don't have to add any creams or oils to it because its helping a lot with fly aways and split ends.

I will repurchase this at some point, because I really do suggest you all try it. I am just not running out to get it right now because I have 8 other conditioners that are waiting for their turn hehe

Have you tried this or anything else from the Nourishing Oil Dove Hair Therapy line?

Let me know what else I should try!

ps: Sorry for my lack of posts I have been a busy little makeup fairy, with wedding trials and such!

What a man thinks of himself, that is what determines, or rather indicates his fate.
 ~ Henry David Thoreau

Take your work seriously, but never yourself.
 ~ Dame Margot Fonteyn

It's not what you are that holds you back, it's what you think you are not.
~ Denis Waitley

Okay so the point of this post is because of something I see makeup artist doing A LOT! Posting on craigslist with ads that state something similar to the following "Bridal Makeup $25 and each member of your part for $10 a piece"

It is hard being a makeup artist, and getting people to pay you what you know you deserve. When people contact me for quotes, I sometimes hear well I get quotes MUCH less from so and so. I explain to them why they would want to pay my pricing. I say you are paying thousands of dollars for your wedding, your dress, venue, and photography. Why would you want a bargain for your makeup, when that is what everyone is going to be seeing. No matter how beautiful and expensive that dress is, if your hair and makeup are a hot mess it will be seen first. It will haunt you in every picture, and you will regret it.

This post isn't about me being some makeup artist with a chip on my shoulder. It is about you believing in yourself enough to command more. To not sell yourself short, and to believe that your work is worth more. Your time, energy and materials are worth more than that. If you are asking more, they will assume it is for a reason. If you are charging bargain prices then maybe they will assume that is also for a reason. You get what you pay for perhaps?

I hope that even if you aren't a makeup artist, but you are someone that works for yourself you don't sell yourself short. Be your number one fan, if I could I would call you and tell you everyday that you deserve more! Here's to you being successful and demand more for your time.

This is my new series where I will be interviewing makeup artists, hairstylists and beauty enthusiasts.

My first interview was with the beautiful Samantha Schuerman , with nearly 40,000 followers on her You Tube beauty channel and over 13,000 followers on her Daily Vlog channel I thought she would be the perfect interview for my series. She is not only gorgeous but she is also one of the sweetest girls I have gotten the honor to interview! Enjoy....

1. Do you have any tips for new mom's, on making time for themselves? You always look so put together in your videos, and find time to do your hair and makeup. Buy a swing!!!! That is the only way I get to take a shower, put my make up on and film my video..... if it weren't for that swing, I honestly don't know what I would have done all this time as far as trying to get dressed etc..... as soon as they fall asleep, get your booty in the shower and be as quick as you can, so that you can put your make up on, get dressed and feel presentable to the world, or at least to yourself :) Now once Mr. Phoenix can't fit in his swing anymore, well... let's just say I'm a little bit nervous about that situation! I might need to think of something else then :)

2.What or who inspires your makeup, hair or fashion? I honestly can't say that any particular person inspires me. I never really look at celebrity outfits or hair and think..... "yah I'm going to do that".... I kinda just do what I want. I don't really have any rules. Just whatever I feel like that day! I usually just look at the colors I'm wearing and do my make up based on that. I get dressed based on what the weather is like and how comfy I want to be that day :) Usually if I have to do laundry that day, it won't be such a snazzy outfit ;)

3.Is there a celebrity that you would like to steal their look? Maybe their hairstyle, wardrobe. or even just their lifestyle? I would totally steal Kim Kardashian's clothes and make up..... I think she always looks flawless! As far as hair goes...... hmm thats a tough one, anything long and blonde and luscious ;)

4.Is there a celebrity that you would like to do a makeover on? Who and why? That would HAVE to be Britney Spears!!! I love Britney, I think she's fabulous but her hair just needs to be free of those extensions. Just let it grow out gracefully you know what I sayin???? I would just love to sit her down and do her hair and make up and have a nice little girly chat ;) I feel like we could be friends :)

5.Do you have a Holy Grail makeup item? Holy Grail Beauty item (lotion, perfume, hair product) It would have to be Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation, the regular version and the Light version. Its the only foundation that makes my skin look flawless and doesn't break me out. It lasts all day, controls oil and makes it look like you have perfect skin, when you don't at all..... the only thing I would change, would be that its more photo friendly with flash. Nobody wants to look like a vampire face!

6.Is there a beauty trend that you just don't understand or you will never follow? I really can't think of anything specific... I don't really follow the trends very much. I wouldn't consider myself "up with the latest fashion trends" I have to say I really am not a fan of the whole massive eyebrow thing that was going on with some of the models in the magazine ads, its just not for me. Partly because I have none, so I actually can't have big eyebrows but I just don't like the way it looks.

7.Is there something you could tell us about yourself that might surprise us or that we might not know just from your videos/blog? That is a super hard question seeing as I just did my Imperfect Life Tag that pretty much spilled the beans about my life story. But I will give you another one..... it's nothing too secretive or exciting but it's something :) I am super afraid of drowning. I almost drowned when I was about 5. I had swimming lessons at my school. I always had 2 floaty boards but that day my teacher (she was totally an evil freaknuts) only let me have one. I kept saying I need two, I was too scared..... she told me I had to use only one. It was super slippery from being wet and I was in the deep end and I slipped off of the board and down I went. I remember just falling backwards into the water looking up hoping someone would come.... it seemed like forever but finally the teacher jumped in with all of her clothes on and pulled me out. I'm sure it wasn't that long but I felt like I was under the water for so long and it's still fresh in my mind like it was yesterday! To this day I am super nervous in the water, I hate swimming in the ocean and I get very panicky in big bodies of water where I can't see my feet. If it's really deep or dark. So I would say it scarred me for life! Now you know something, you didn't know ;)

8.Tell us a little bit about your background in the beauty field. When and where did your experience start?(when you knew you wanted to be hairstylist/makeup artist, schooling, experience, etc.) I've always been interested in make up and hair. When I was little my Mom was a Beauti Control Consultant and she would have lots of women over at our house having the "make up parties" and she would always let me sit with them and play with the make up. Whenever she went out to dinner or an event I would help her put her rollers in her hair and help her pick out her jewelry and clothes :) She used to put make up on me and let me practice on her. SO that's when my love for it truly began. As far as getting into it professionally, I started in highschool. At the time, my boyfriends Mom was a hair stylist and owned a salon. I used to go to the salon after work and hang out ( I had no friends) and I would ask if I could sweep hair or just watch them doing their clients. I went there almost everyday after school for an hour or 2. One day she said I should go to beauty school. So I said ok :) I apprenticed at her salon for 2 years while I went to beauty school as well. It was hard work and a lot more difficult that I expected. Those 2 years felt like a life time but when I finally got my license, it was the best feeling ever :) I passed my state board exam on my Mom's birthday, she would have been 46 I think. I think she helped me pass because I was so nervous that I accidently swore in the middle of my practical and it was super loud and everyone stopped what they were doing and stared at me :( SO I though I failed for sure. BUT I PASSED!!! YAY :)

9.Can you tell us what music you like to listen to when your getting ready? What musician or songs you enjoy listening to when your doing hair and makeup for yourself or someone else? I never actually listen to music when I get ready anymore, but when I was younger it would be the latest pop music ;) I love Britney, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Eminem (i'm a MAJOR fan).... I also really love Kate Bush, she's my all time favorite!!! I used to listen to her with my Mom when I was little ;)

10.Do you have any advice for anyone who is interested in starting a beauty youtube channel? Stay true to who you are. Do what you want to do, don't make videos to try and get popular, or what you think will get the most views. Do what makes you happy or you have fun doing. Be yourself. If you are quirky, that's who you are. A lot of beauty guru's videos are very professional, that may be their personality's... but don't try to be like someone else. People will see though it and would prefer it if they could see the real you and not what you are trying to be ;) Have fun, make friends and learn some tips along the way. Everyone can learn something. There is not one person on you tube, or even in the world that knows everything there is to know about their interest or career, so remember that :) Also nobody is better than you, they may know more or may have better make up or nicer clothes or more money than you have but don't let that stop you from making videos about whatever you want to make them about :) ANd try not to let the haters get to you. It will happen eventually, you will get a pooish comment ;( BUt try to ignore it and carry on like it was never there.... it's hard but don't let it discourage you!

I want to say thanks again to Sam for taking the time to do this interview with me. If you don't already know who she is please take the time to visit her and show her some love.
