There is no denying that I love makeup, and trying new things out to tell you about. To try out on my clients and to just find the next best thing. However, I do not like to waste money on drugstore products, and then they never get used.  So when I go shopping for drugstore makeup I am usually at Ulta because they combine manafacturers coupons and their Ulta store coupon. If you combine that with the Buy 1 get 1 half off deals you can rack up.

Today I went to Walgreen's and Dollar General which are both near my home so they are usual stops. I got everything show above for $11 which is pretty good for me. Considering my coffee at Starbucks cost $6.15 I would say I did pretty good heh.

The Rundown at Walgreen's

L'oreal Miracle Blur .5oz $5.99
Maybelline Baked Blush- $6.99
Revlon Nail Polish-.49

I had 1 coupon for $4.00 L'oreal Skincare product

A total of $13.49 spent $9.47

At Dollar General I found this
Wet and Wild set for $4

they had all of their sets for 60% off which left me paying
$1.60
for all my beauty shopping I spent $11.06 which I would say is pretty good. It's not a huge difference but it's always nice to feel like you got a good deal.

Where is your favorite place to shop for drugstore makeup? What's your favorite deal you have gotten?

Sea BuckThorn Dryness Kit - $78.97

Deep Hydrating Serum-
-Vegan
-Cruelty Free,Paraben Free
-Dairy,Wheat and Gluten Free
-Scented with Orange Oil
-Supports Collagen Production
-Improves texture and tone

I was lucky enough to receive this Dryness Kit for review back in the first of February. I have been using this set of products to help with my winter dry skin. The Serum is a nice gel like consistency, that does not leave your skin feeling like it has product on it. A lot of products for dry skin leave me feeling like I am wearing a mask or the product is too thick and will not absorb. This Deep hydrating Serum was a nice light feeling, plus I have combination skin so it didn't make the oil worse but did a great job on my dry patches.

My favorite part of this set was the Seed Oil and Berry Oil. I am a person that likes to try new vitamins or add new products to my daily routine that I feel good about taking. Plus when you notice a difference you really look forward to taking them!

A little bit about them

Berry Oil-1.76oz
-Omega 7s for hair, skin and nail health
-Dental and Gum Health
-Gastro and Live Health
-Kosher and Organic

Seed Oil-1oz
-CardioVascular Health

-High Omega 3,6,9
-Helps White Blood Count
-Great for your Skin and Hair
-Organic

30yr old Sophia Bush from One Tree Hill

Without Makeup She still looks like a teenager!

Sophia says her must have beauty products are Dior Show Mascara and False Lashes

She says she washes her face every morning and night and wears sunscreen everyday!
She has also mentioned using a clarisonic to get all that makeup out of her pores.

Who is your beauty crush? I love seeing girls my age that are rocking it, and looking younger than a lot of 20 year olds.

1.For those out there who don't know you tell us a little bit about BeatFaceHoney
My name is Tatiana Ward. I'm 29 years old an I grew up in Hatfield PA. I currently live in Philadelphia PA. My first love is music and makeup has always run a very close second. I'm a Virgo  I have a cat named Loretta Lynn and I have the most wonderful support system a girl could wish for. I was a singer for the better part of my life but came to realize that I'm not that good at it! lol! So I decided that makeup was the only other thing I could do to make sure I was not just collecting a check but feeling fulfilled.  I work as a professional makeup artist and I make videos on youtube teaching girls around the world how to put on makeup.

2.Are you self taught or did you attend school?
I'm self taught

3.Do you have any tips for girls/guys out there who want to become makeup artist?
I'm a firm believer in failing:) I did a whole lot of failing when I started doing makeup. Through my failures I was able to get better. Don't be afraid to mess up. Every chance you can, work on different faces. This is the best way to learn. You can watch my videos all day long but its entirely different when you're actually holding that brush in your hand and using it on a face that is not your own. Fail and learn. Study magazines and other makeup artists. When I was learning, I was POSSESSED by the makeup God's. I read as much as I could and harassed as many friends as I could to let me practice. I worked at MAC for about 6 months. That was a GREAT experience. I got to work on all different kinds of races and skin types and eye shapes and face shapes.

4.Do you think You tube helped you with your makeup skills or was it about teaching others?
I've always been a natural born teacher. I enjoy explaining things. I worked in retail for years while pursuing my singing career. If someone needed to be trained, it was always me who did it. I enjoy guiding and encouraging people. Naturally, when I realized that there was a platform that people where using to teach makeup, I was all over it! Youtube DEFINITELY helped with my technique. You know how people talk about their children and how they are supposed to be teaching them, but in the end THEY are the ones learning lessons? Thats how I feel about my audience. I learned when making my first video that I had to put things into words that I never had. That meant I had to find the worlds and be able to give reason behind it. I often times would find myself questioning why I did something in a particular way. If I couldn't explain it to my audience, perhaps its because Im doing it wrong and there is a better way.

5.Something amazing happened to you recently, you got to do Brandy's makeup, how did that come to be?
Brandy is one of my idols:) She's got one of the most amazing voices that our generation can claim. I made a tutorial duplicating her makeup from the "Put It Down" video. My viewers tweeted her and told her about me. She contacted me via twitter and said she loved the video and my makeup. The rest is history:) She did a show in Philly and asked that I do her makeup. Truly a dream come true!

6.Who else would you like to work with?Any other celebrity you would love to work with?
I want to work with SOOOO many artists! I think of myself as a singer who does makeup. Most of my idols and the women I admire are vocalists. I cant wait to do Beyonce, Janelle Monae, Cher, Janet Jackson, Solange, Pink,  I could seriously go ON AND ON! This industry will allow me to be around so many people I've looked up to for so many years. I also look forward to being around greatness like Oprah and Michelle Obama. Brandy was truly an unbelievable experience. She was in my top 5 and it actually happened!

7.When did you know you wanted to be a makeup artist?
I struggle with this question at times. I think that MOST women teach themselves makeup because we have insecurities. As a teenager, I saw Kevyn Aucoin do an interview on tv. I was probably about 14 or 15. I had no idea that you change peoples faces, make their noses look slimmer, make their cheek bones pop, just with makeup! I never felt pretty as a kid so I bought his book and STUDIED IT! I looked at those transformations he did and I was hell bent on doing that for myself. I wanted to feel beautiful. I developed a love for the actual application  Id relish in taking an hour to do just my makeup alone. It was my favorite part of my day. I knew then that if music didn't work out, I'd be doing makeup.

8.What items do you suggest every makeup artist have in their kit? Your top 5 items for your kit?
Foundation, Concealer, Blush, Gloss, Brow pencils. Don't concern yourself with the brands. You'll work your way up to that. These are the basics. Notice I didn't include eyeshadow. Only on youtube and on instagram do people really care about eyeshadow. Of course its important, but when you are just learning, the most important thing to learn is FACE makeup. It doesn't matter how awesome the color combination is on her eyelid if her skin looks ashy and her eyebrows are lopsided!

9.What is your personal, holy grail beauty item/s?
I watch people do reviews on makeup all the time. They speak about products that they cant live without. My kit is constantly growing and Im always trying to incorporate new things into it. My fav items change all the time. I evolve as an artist everyday. A couple of things that have stayed consistent are Wet N' Wild's cream liner, MAC Studio Fix powder, MAC Studio Tech Foundation and MAC Studio Finish concealers. Ask me next week, and I might tell you something different. lol

10.In your You Tube videos you come across very positive and confident. Have you always been that way? Especially when you stated doing makeup on clients? Any tips on finding thing confidence within ourselves?
Ya gotta fake it till you make it! I trained one of my best friends on how to do makeup. I told her that NO MATTER WHAT, you play it cool. If you are freaking out in your head and you don't know how you're gonna get through a face because you messed up their eyeliner or you cant get their eyebrows right or for whatever reason, don't loose your cool! If you freak out, the client will freak out even worse. Also, I think that people have this idea in their heads that the client isn't supposed to see themselves to the very end of the transformation. Everyone likes the element of surprise.... NOT ME! Have a mirror with you at all times and have your client check her face every so often. This way, she can tell you what she doesn't like, or what she'd like changed before its too late. I cant say it enough, YOU ARE GOING TO FAIL! You will learn from it though. I remember doing trial makeup on a bride and she didn't say she hated it, but I knew she hated it. I left there not being discouraged, but feeling determined to never have that happen again. You will gain confidence with every triumph, but be willing to except your failures and learn from them.

11.What music do you listen to when you are getting ready? Anyone that inspires you when doing makeup?
Music inspires me all together! At the moment I've been listening to a lot of Brandy but it could be ANYTHING! From Steely Dan to 2 Chainz, I LOVE MUSIC! Its the biggest inspiration in my life.

12. So what can we expect to see from BeatFaceHoney in the near future?
Im hoping to start doing classes this summer. I really want to TEACH makeup in a hands-on kind of way and also meet my audience and get to tell them to their faces how much I appreciate them. I also see myself in LA a lot in the coming months. I hope to be beating faces from coast to coast:)

13.Where would you like to see yourself this time next year?
God has been so good to me that I just don't even know whats coming next! One of my favorite sayings is , "Man plans and God Laughs". I could tell you that I hope to be on tour with Beyonce and make it home in enough time to open up my own makeup teaching facility,  but God may have even bigger plans for me! I know that I hope to be doing a lot more celebrities and be a trusted and valued part of peoples lives. Thats all I can hope for.

All photos belong to BeatFaceHoney and were used with her permission!

Tatiana is not only amazingly talented but she has to be one of the nicest girls I have had the pleasure of talking to. I wish her all the success in the world! Go show her love and tell her I sent you!

City Color Cosmetics Eye Primer $2.99

Jumbo Eye Pencil $1.99
Top with Purple City Color Shadow over Eye Pencil
Bottom Jumbo Eye Pencil by itself

$4.99 at CityColorBeauty.com
Available in 8 shades

When blended it it almost completely disappears, now to be fair with my skin no BB cream has worked for me. I think this would be great if you don't have any acne scars,or redness to cover up. It doesn't have a bad smell and it is a nice consistency. I think it would be great in the summer because it is a light coverage. This will work as a tinted moisturizer to eliminate your need for Foundation.

Elegantly Bold Shadow and Blush Palette $4.99 in shade Dark
I did not swatch the white and black shadow they are just matte shades.

One swipe over the City Color Primer
This trio blush over the Mousse Blush

I was lucky enough to receive these products for review from City Color Cosmetics. I have to say that it all worked amazingly well. The eye primer is pretty great, and it lasts for at least 6 hours. All the shadows are very pigmented. I am so happy they sent me all these great things to try out and add to my collection! The jumbo eye pencil did crease a little bit by itself, however over a primer and blended out with the purple shadow over it I did not have any issues. Let me know if you would like to see an eye look with this palette, it's got lots of great colors.

If you want to try some of these products out or some of there other amazing products!

Sunkissed Trio in Golden $5.99 at Rite Aid
Use a light hand because these are definitely pigmented!

Mousse Blush in Soft Pink $2.99

one swatch blended out, you can build this to to be as bright as you need.

I was lucky enough to receive some products from City Color Cosmetics. These 2 products are the first to get reviewed. The Sun Kissed trio is amazing because you get all 3 products in 1. They do have nice pigmentation and you should use a light hand when putting them on. I have fair skin and did not notice the bronzer making me appear orange or dirty like some bronzers. The highlight is great but be careful because it is also pigmented and you will highlight a little too much ! I would compare this to my Sephora disk that cost around $22 and it works just as good in my opinion. The shades are different so you can't compare that but quality I would say is the same.

The Mousse Blush is amazing, it is a great base for other blushes or just by itself. It gives you a nice flush of color. In the swatch above it's lightly applied and blended out. You can imagine if that was on your cheek how great that would look. It is very buildable and you can get as pink as your heart desires!

I have some other great products to review next week so please stay tuned!

Couldn't get a good photo of my packaging with nothing in it.

As you can tell this scrub was loved to the very end. However, I must admit that my hubby took this product and used it for himself because he enjoyed it so much. He came to me and said I if you want me to write a review for that Sugar Scrub I will. So I took him up on, now that the review showed up in my email I thought I would post it for you guys.

Please understand he is a goofball, so his review is funnier than it is informative.

In the interest of full disclosure I must admit that I LOVE SCRUBS.  LOVE ‘EM! The way Johnny loves June, Gwen loves that guy from Bush, and Kayne and Kim love Kayne and Kim, that’s the way I love scrubs.  Now I am not a metrosexual fella.  My wife can attest to that.  I love UFC fighting, camping, rock music, football, beer, and boobies (and not necessarily in that order).  I haven’t used a “hair product” in 10 years and I cannot tell you the difference between a cardigan and a regular sweater.  That being said when I first started dating Mrs. Crazy beautiful make-up and she turned me on to scrubs it was a match made in heaven.  So when I had a chance to use Organoderm Organic Raw sugar Exfoliator (which I guess is different than a scrub, see I have no idea) I jumped at the chance.

I loved this product!  I used it (for the most part) on my face, forearms, and neck, during my morning shower.  I really did see quite the improvement in the first week in the softness of my skin and the way my face looked, It just looked smoother.  You can feel the sugar on your skin as you use, and I could see how some people may not like that feeling (kind of course) but I really liked it and thought it felt great, and to me that feeling made me think it was “working.”  I normally used it once a day (I may have forgot a few days in there) and it lasted me about two months, which I was happy with.  I truly dug this product and would recommend it anyone…guys and dolls alike.
-Mr Crazy,Beautiful Makeup

I went to order it off their website and it seems to be gone.I did see it on amazon and a few other places. So tell me what's your favorite natural scrub? I need to replace his beloved OrganoDerm Sugar Exfoliator!

$7.99 at Ulta or nyxcosmetics.com 2oz

Lightweight water based setting spray for a Matte Finish!

Okay, so after I hauled this and instagramed it everyone asked me to review is ASAP. So after using it on myself I must say it is a great product.

How I use it:
Before I put on any foundation or concealer, I hold it an arms distance from my face and spray it twice. Then after I have put on everything and no last bit of makeup to apply, I do the same thing sometimes just once. I usually aim it for t-zone which is where I get the most shine.

It works great for me, now that I know it works for me, I will not be afraid to use this on my clients. I will say that this bottle sprays heavy, so you will want to hold it at a distance. Otherwise, you may end up with streaky or running makeup.

If you consider that Urban Decay De-Slick or All Nighter is $29 for 4 oz then you know this is a great deal. Plus with Ulta you get B1G1 50% off, and you can use their $3.50 off $10 coupon so it's an amazing deal.

They also have a Dewy finish spray that I want to try out, and I will be reviewing it as soon as I do.

Have you tried this? Let me know NYX item to pick up next?

Rose Shade-Target Clearance for $5.98 still at Ulta for $11.99

A swatch to show you the nice pink glow it gives you!

Happy Booster Glow and Mood Boosting Blush from Physicians Formula!

I picked this up at Target last week, and thought it's a great price and since I have heard so much about it, why not. Half the stuff that everyone raves about on YouTube I go and pick it up and never use it again. This was not the case with this product. It has been my go to blush since picking it up. It also reminds me of the new Mac blush from The Archie Girls Collection Veronica's Blush.

Physicians formula is usually on sale and they always have coupons, so I suggest you pick this up next time you are out. There is so much great stuff out from them right now, I just want to pick it all up.

Do you have this blush? Which blush should I try next?

Buxom True Hue Blush in Seduction/Pop Pink - $24.00

You can tell it has been loved in my kit :)

I posted about this blush last year when I bought it for my birthday. However, I have added it to my kit because I used mine so much.

It is a beautiful pink, you can wear it by itself for a soft subtle pink. I layer it over a cream blush for that great hot pink color to last all day!

There are a lot of hot pink blushes out there, but this one does not disappoint. This blush is free of Parabens and Sulfates.

Have you tried this blush? What shade should I pick up next? I am always looking for the perfect blush for my kit.
