Beauty at any Age

by - 9:00 AM

I am joining with some lovely women from the Beauty Blogger Collab and sharing our thoughts on beauty at any age. I was excited to take part, because I think it is important to stay true to yourself. I am in my early thirties and I love color, and glitter. I am also a huge fan of anything animal print or pink so you usually can see me coming.

It wasn't until I turned thirty that I started getting comments about my bright makeup choices. I remember just last year I was in a store, and a little girl told her mom "You should wear your makeup like hers". She was only like 6 years old but still she kept telling her mom how pretty my makeup was. The mom looked at her daughter and then back at me and said "It takes a special kind of person to wear that kind of makeup".  I also get the occasional don't you think you are too old for that kind of makeup, or to dye your hair so much. However, I can tell you now that I will always be this person. I get bored easily and for me makeup is my expression, as is my hair.

Makeup should be fun, it's something that I apply almost on a daily basis. If you don't like the look it can be washed right off.  Don't be afraid to play around it and try new things. I don't believe in people having a shade, or certain colors that they look good in. I say if it makes you happy wear it. I love a bright lip, so maybe the orange isn't the best shade to make my teeth look white. I wear orange lips all the time, because it makes ME happy.

We should find out what we love, and wear it. Stop being so hard on ourselves, and treating each other poorly. I hate that age is something that is looked poorly upon, especially with women. I am here to tell you 30 is amazing and I embrace it. No matter how old you are reading this, I hope you let go of all the worries, or preconceived notions you have about beauty. Go ahead and buy that hot pink lipstick, blue shadow, or add some fun highlights to your hair.
