Urban Decay Naked 3 $54 at Ulta.com and Maybelline Blushed Nudes $9.98 at Walmart.com
You can see that some of the shades are pretty close, while others really miss the mark on being a dupe. They are in the same family, and very rose blushed tones. The Maybelline shadows are a little chalkier and their swatches are after at least 2 attempts to get color payoff. The Urban Decay swatches only took one swipe to get the color payoff you see. There is a $44 difference between the 2 palettes and that is without any coupons or sales that you find on drugstore products.
I can't tell you how many times I have heard someone say that this palette was an "exact" dupe for the Urban Decay Naked 3. So when I was at Wal Mart I decided to go ahead and pick it up and see for myself. Now the funny part of this is that, the Naked 3 palette is the least favorite of all the UD palettes. Why would I want to duplicate it? I wanted to compare it for the blog and to see if it really was a dupe.
Let me start by saying, you can achieve similar looks with both palettes. However, they are not dupes for each other at all. The quality of product in the Maybelline palette is not close to the Urban Decay. There are only a few of the shadows that are close to each other and the others are nowhere near the other shadows . Even though they are similar I don't feel like they are interchangeable or that you can replace UD with the Maybelline palette.
I think they are both fun palettes, and are both worth owning if you are looking for these shades of shadows. I was hoping that they were dupes, I wanted to bring you good news.
Do you own either of these palettes? Did you think they were dupes?
Bought with my own money.
