I am going out tomorrow evening to run errands and to do some shopping. Does anyone have any drugstore suggestions of things I should buy?

Anything new that I need? hehe

Sorry for the lack of post, the hubby and I went out to Earthfare and to the used bookstore. I was trying to organize my beauty/makeup area. What I need to buy is more storage, that is not fun :) Makeup is the fun part.

I am sure by now everyone has heard about these 2 products.
1.Hard Candy Heavy Duty Concealer-$6.00 at Walmart
2.ELF Flawless Finish Foundation-$6.00 Eyeslipsface.com

Review/Why they work for me:
I love both of these products I first use the foundation and it gives me a nice coverage. It is not a full coverage but with Glamoflage Concealer you would never know that you needed it.
I have a oily t-zone,with acne prone skin. This foundation is oil free, and it has not caused me to break out at all or make me have any more oil.
My shade is Porcelain in the foundation.

The concealer I am the Light shade, they only come in 3 shades.  It will seriously cover a tattoo so any problem area on your face can be covered too. It is very thick so if you use it under your eyes remember to set it so it doesn't crease.

The foundation is worth $6.00 but since I know ELF has great deals on their website. I would wait until they do the 75% or buy one get one deal. Then you can buy 2 shades and mix and match for the summer :)

Let me know if you have tried these and what you thought. Let me know if you like any drugstore or cheaper priced foundations. I love my department store foundation but now I can use it sparingly.

I thought it might be fun to share a few tips for aspiring makeup artist out there. This will be my first of many to come.

1. Always be prepared, always be ready to sell yourself you are a walking model for your work. Sounds like common sense, but sometimes we forget or do not consider this to be THAT important.

Example: I went grocery shopping and when at the checkout the cashier stated how much she loved my eyeshadow. I went on to explain that I was a makeup artist, she told her manager who was close by who was needing a makeup artist for her wedding. There you have it, I gave her my card and then you have a new client.

So the importance of that story is, I was out for a day of running errands. However, I took pride in myself and did my hair and makeup and wear clean cute clothes. I wear all black if I do not feel like finding something to wear when I am  just running errands.

DO NOT go out in your pajama's I once had someone tell me she was a makeup artist. She had on flannel pajama's,dirty sneakers,no makeup on. Now if you are more of an all natural girl, that is fine, be a clean all natural girl.

Model's have to look a certain way, hair stylist have to have good hair,as a makeup artist, people want to see what they are getting. Be professional if you have any intentions of giving out your cards. You do not know who you will run into who may just be looking for a makeup artist.

I want you to be successful, and I hope this helps!
(if you look like the 3 models above in pajama's I think you can wear whatever you want hehe)

I love being a makeup artist, but one thing that makes me happiest is this ZUCA Bag. What you cannot see from this picture is that the wheels light up when you roll the ZUCA. I know, don't be jealous I am pretty awesome.
Inside there are 4 clear zip up bags that I split up foundations/blush/bronzers/then the most loved eyeshadows. I then have 2 other clear bags that I bought elsewhere with fake lashes, glitter, and a bag of prep/clean up stuff. On the side in that white mesh,I keep face wipes and baby wipes. Then on the other side I keep my notebook with contracts, face charts, anything else you can think of.
The top of it can be used as a seat, so your model won't sit on the ground. Be prepared, noone wants to wait on you to figure it out!

You can find this very bag online for a range of prices. This is where I got the photo, and where you can find TONS of fabulous items. Most of which I do not have yet, but I am working on it ;)

I was thinking of starting a Makeup Artist Series on here, I can show you what's in my actual ZUCA. If anyone would be interested in that.

Note: I was not sent this item,I am not affiliated with this website, and lord knows I was not paid to say that!

I spent the night shopping for groceries at our local Earthfare(like wholefoods in case you are wondering). I spent 20minutes looking at all the beautiful organic/natural/pure makeup and face products. I would love to try out some of these items and put them into my kit.

I love Natures Knockout, and they use natural products on their celebrity clients. I would love to find some great products. If anyone has any suggestions I would love to know. I do not know where to even begin, I think it would nice to have them to offer to my clients give them the choice.

I am looking for to name just a few
  • Makeup
  • Face lotion
  • Makeup Remover
  • Wipes for Face and Eyes
  • Brushes

I posted a drugstore review in my last post about the Sally Hansen Color quick(click and go) nail polish. A little update I was sitting in the car this morning killing time before an appointment. I looked down and noticed I had forgotten to redo my nails, and they were that faded out blue. For some reason the Sally Hansen nail polish was in my purse. So I used it real quick and redid the polish before I had to go in.

Around lunch time I looked down at my nails to only see that 4 fingernails on one hand had almost completely rubbed off already. Two fingernails on the other hand were already gone. Although it was nice to have it right there in my purse, I am very upset about its staying power. If anyone else has tried it and enjoyed it, let me now. Maybe like I said because mine was on clearance it was just old.
