There are swatches on the top part of my hand its the first 4 shades in the palette top row.
Then the next four shades are the last 4 shades swatched on the bottom of my hand.

Swatches of the last four shades are shown here!

So should you love it or leave it?

Let me just get right to the review no beating around the bush. Is this a palette I am reaching for? Is this a palette that I just cannot live without? Is it something I would call my must have? The answer is no to all of those questions. However, keep reading and find out why I think it might work for some people.

I have a lot of high end palettes that I use on a regular basis. That is why I was a little quick to judge this palette. It is a good palette as far as the darker shades go, they are pigmented and and not as chalky as the matte shades. However, the lighter shades which are matte are really light and almost non existent. If you aren't as obsessively collecting makeup like me I think you will enjoy this palette. You can get a nice look with this palette, going from day to night. I have worn these shadows and was able to come up with a smokey eye, with a little work. I did have to use another palette for the highlight, but that isn't a big issue because I have a favorite brow color that I always reach for anyways.I did have to use a primer to get the colors to show up the way I wanted as well.

If you don't have a lot of makeup in your collection, and want a palette without dropping a lot of money this might work for you. If you have lots of makeup, I don't think this is going to be a palette you find yourself reaching for. Especially if you have the Naked Palettes, the Nude Tude Palette from The Balm or any other natural palette. I will say it would be a leave it for me personally but I will find someone who can use it and give it love hehe.

I think this palette had such potential and we all had high hopes that it was going to be something completely different. It is hard to find drugstore shadows that you just can't live without, and to finally have a drugstore palette was a great concept. I hope they reformulate and come out with something new!

Have you tried it? Do you love it or leave it?

  1. I've been eyeing this pallet for a while... I'm sure it can't compare to the higher end ones, but it still looks like a good pallet!
