I picked up the new Buxom blush in Seduction the best way to describe this is Hot Pink. I absolutely love it. It's one of their new true hue blushes, and I was curious to try them out. Now that I am no longer buying MAC or Urban Decay I am looking for a new go to company. For blushes I think I will stick with these. The color payoff is amazing, and it lasts all day.

I have had it a few weeks, and I am already planning on buying more :)

Do you have this blush? If now what are you waiting for?

Jasmine Green Tea and Skin Detox Clay Bath
Review: I loved this skin detox,  I used it in my bath as a soak and then I mixed it with water and made a paste and put it all over my shoulders and chest as a mask for 30 minutes. It was much like going to the Spa and getting a body wrap . It helped my skin feel clean and refreshed. The thought that it was clearing out the impurities also made me like it more.
Review: This Jasmine green tea claims to help eliminate toxins from your body. It has a great taste and I drink it in the morning  to start my day off right. I have not noticed any side effects or stomach issues with drinking this tea. I know a few other detox teas I have tried left my stomach upset.

If you are interested in trying out these products go to   www.miracleclay.net  and find many other great products.

Tomorrow it's grocery shopping time again, and I have been going through a few of my favorite books to get some meal ideas.

As you know the hubby and I try to eat mostly fresh fruits and veggies. Lots of salads, and veggie dishes make up our day to day. I get bored easily so  I turn to these books for some meal ideas. I also love to read them to help me know what foods to avoid and what supplements I may need.

These are definitely just a few of my favorite books and if you are looking for some healthy summer dishes I suggest any of these for you.

I know this isn't technically beauty related but it starts from the inside out, right?

What are some of your fave healthy cookbooks? Let me know I would love to check them out!

I know this isn't the newest product out by ELF however, it is on clearance at my Target and it was only $5. I was skeptical because I have a few palettes that are not so great but I wanted to try it out.

The shadows actually have great color payoff and with a primer they stay all day. I used this for a fun smokey eye this weekend and it stayed all night. I suggest you run out to your Target and see if you can find some half off ELF products too!

Let me know what your favorite elf products are. I may be doing a haul from their website soon because they are Cruelty Free!

5oz for $10
You can see by the label that it is everything I am looking for in a product. Organic,Vegan,Natural, Fairly Traded, and Cruelty Free.

To find this product check out Shor-ganics.com

This is tub tea, and if you are like me and love a nice long relaxing bath this is what you need. I take a handful of this product and put it in my bath. Not only does it smell good it leaves your skin feeling soft. I love bath products but they contain so many chemicals and if its something I am using several times a week I want it to be safe. I know I can use as much as I want and the ingredients are safe.

$8.00

As you know if you have read my blog for awhile I am always searching for a natural deodorant that actually works. This deodorant not only worked but it smelled great throughout the day. I could smell the lavender with a hint of lemon off and on throughout the day. It held up to my busy schedule and I felt confident using it while working on clients that I was fresh. This is a product that I use everyday and a few times a day so again I like knowing that its safe.

If you are trying to make the switch to natural and cruelty free products I suggest you check out their website. You can buy with a clear conscious and feel good about your purchases.

Check out Shor-ganics.com and let them know I sent you!

I had posted that I was dying my hair to get it a more natural shade and not have to bleach my roots the blonde was so hard to maintain. I am trying to be more natural and dying my hair is the least natural thing I do. So here is what happened to me, and how I corrected it naturally.

So I posted pictures that my hair was like this
with a little darker root growth

So I thought I will just dye it darker and be done with it. Now I have been a compulsive hair dye queen since I was a preteen. I have gone from blonde to brown many times with and without an issue. I usually never take on a hair dye journey until I have a free day so just in case I can correct it. This time I said your a pro, you don't have anywhere to be until noon tomorrow go ahead.

Well I dyed it a bright red like before, and that color took just fine. The next step was a dark blonde which was going to leave me with a brownish blonde color. I have done this a few times in the past few years and it has always worked. This time I put the dye on left it for 30 minutes and washed it out. I blow dried my hair and my hair look like this.

(beautiful on her but not what I wanted)

How it got to this color I will never know, but it was a dark cherry red at the roots almost black and then an ombre effect into lighter red and then brown. My hair was not this color with the red on it so how the red got darker I will never know. Needless to say this was the disaster because it was nothing like I wanted. I had a brief moment of panic thinking I must bleach it NOW! Instead I put on my big girl pants and googled naturally get rid of too dark hair dye. I had tried most of the things before and I know those will not help in a day they will be gradually fading for the next week. I did see this little trick and thought WHY NOT.

This is one hair trick I had never tried but a lot of girls said it worked for them. I laughed at the idea but thought I have a cabinet full of vitamin c so let's give it a try. I took out 10 tablets (more if you are doing your whole head) and crushed them into a fine powder. I then added them to a bowl, and  put joy dish washing liquid in the bowl and mixed. You can use whatever shampoo you want, but dish washing liquid will help strip the color so I just used it. I only wanted my roots lighter, because the red of my hair although not the color I wanted was actually a pretty shade. I put it on my roots for an hour with a plastic bag on my head and then rinsed. When I say that it lightened my hair I mean took away the dark cherry red roots to a nice dark blonde. So I then put more of the mixture on the rest of my hair and now it is ultimately back to the color I had wanted.

How the Vitamin C works is beyond me but it didn't dry out my hair. I have a nice mixture of highlights and it isn't so harsh. I hide from the sun and do not fake tan as much as I should so anything darker than this makes me feel like I belong in Twilight or a dark corner :)

So don't worry the next time your hair dye doesn't turn out as light as you want, try this a few times and let me know how it works!

If you are having a hair emergency or you want to ask me any questions I hope I can help!

Another review by my husband for this natural deodorant.
Just like the Shave Cream I was intially skeptical about using this product.  I never -- never use Deodorant that is not gel based, and this a dry stick.  I feel the most comfortable with the gel because I never have too many "B.O. moments."  But since this is a 100% Vegan, I would definetly try it.  I decided to run it through three rigorous tests using it before and after - Working out, Mowing the lawn, and hiking.  The workout I do is interval muscle-confusion training (similiar to P90X) so it is a pretty intense sweat-inducing workout.  After an hour of this extreme calorie-burning, I was happy to report I did not smell that bad.  I showered and applied it after the shower and it left me smelling good all day.  I had a similiar result after mowing the lawn.  The only time I did not feel "totally protected" was after my hike.  I had defineltly smelled like I took a hike. However, the hike I went on was 12.6 miles and it takes about 5 hours, so I don't know if any deodorant that can protect your armpits against that battery.  I would definetly recommend this product.

So to go along with my natural and cruelty free lifestyle, I am having to make a big decision. The giving up meat, dairy, eggs,MAC,leather was not the hard part for me. However, not being a compulsive hair dying queen is. I have dyed my hair since I was 12, and I have officially had every shade of hair imaginable.  My hair is a way to express myself, so I love to dye it and cut it as often as possible.

I stopped bleaching it platinum blonde months back, and went dark. Which slowly lead to highlights, more highlights and now I am back to an ombre of blondes. I know that the most toxic thing that I do is dying my hair. So, tomorrow by this time I will be back to a natural shade(my hair is naturally a dirty blonde and my roots were darker than that) and will no longer buy at home hair dye in a box. I may eventually try some henna or fun stuff from my local health food store. If I do and enjoy it I will be sure to let you know. Here are a few pictures to give you an idea of where I am now and where I will be tomorrow with my hair color!

Current Color

The New Color :)

Maybe more like this because of my different shades of blonde I may end up with some highlights from the different colors. Either way I will be happy, for awhile :)

I have been doing some serious soul searching and have done a lot of research and decided to officially make the change to cruelty free. I will no longer purchase from companies that are known testers. I will not review products from companies that are not cruelty free. I have a lot of products that I already own from companies that are tested on animals, but I will use those up and never repurchase.

That's right, no more MAC or Urban Decay and it truly upsets me to say that. I knew MAC went to the dark side but to see that Urban Decay the "Vegan Palette" and a whole section dedicated to their Vegan Products has gone non cruelty free has upset me. It is disgusting to me and I will not buy the Naked 3 Palette or whatever their gotta get me hands on palette will be. As a makeup artist I will find new things to use for my clients, I will be slowly buying stuff to replace the old products.

If you see anything reviewed on my page that is not cruelty free these are products I already received to review. I will not accept any new products that are tested on animals. I don't eat meat,I no longer consume dairy or eggs. I will not buy leather, and the next logical move is to stop buying from companies that mistreat animals. I will also always try to offer healthy, organic, natural beauty products.

I hope you will enjoy the turn my blog will be taking. It will be difficult for me but I hope help those who are trying decide what is right for them decide to make the jump.
I always buy with the best of intentions, so if you see any new purchases that are not cruelty fee please let me now. I will NEVER knowingly buy products that are not cruelty free,I will appreciate any positive comments.

Thanks again,

Heather

Herban Cowboy Aloe Shave Cream

The consistency of the product

I get sent all types of fun stuff, when I got this I knew that my husband would love it. So he used them and this is his review!

When Heather asked me if I wanted to test this Shave Cream, I was a little hesitant at first. I am an avid user of the Everyman Jack line and once I find something that works for me I never really deter from that (for example, If my wife didn't make me go other places I would eat at Panera Bread everyday for Breakfast and Moe's everyday for lunch).  When I was told it was 100% Vegan certified, I was willing to give it a try (no animals should have to be harmed so I can get my swag on).  On my first use, I thought it was a dud because it did not lather, however, that is because I am a guy and I did not read the first line on the back it says Non-Lathering Skin conditioning formula.  As far as the actual product, I am very satisfied with it.  I should advise I shave my head, as well as my face and it perfomed well on both, and it actually left my skin feeling better than my beloved Everyman Jack.  I would credit that with the use of Aloe in this product.  Overall I would definetly recommend this product for all the fellas out there, it is a good shave that leaves your skin, not feeling dried out.

You can find this at Whole Foods,Earth Fare,Wal Green, GNC and many other locations! The hubby mentioned wanting to pick more of this product up, so I know he really likes it. Does your significant other use natural products?

Have you tried it?

While in New York I did a little shopping at Ulta,Rite Aid and Five Below. These are just a few of the beauty items I picked up.
I got 2 foundations which I have been blending together and really enjoy. I made one last stop at Ulta on my way out and got a few more NYX products and a bieber perfume. Those are not photographed because I am lazy and they are still packed. I will do full reviews on the items as I use them. Some I already have used and love.

Have you used any of these? Do you like them?

During my lovely vacation the hubby and I visited the Farm Sanctuary in New York. It is a farm where rescued animals get to live freely. I know this is a beauty blog but these are just a few fun pics of my trip to the sanctuary. Enjoy!

Chickens

Geese and Ducks

Rescued Goats

Cattle

Piggies

Turkeys

If it looks serene it is because the farm is closed during the week, they only do tours on weekends. However, the worker was very nice and let us do a self guided tour and see the animals and the farm on our own. We loved it and if you are ever in upstate New York please take the time to visit the Farm!
